Campus Child Care to host book fair

Book Fair Fiesta logoNIU’s Campus Child Care Center will host a Scholastic Book Fair during the week of March 24. Funds raised will help purchase books and materials for the center’s classrooms.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend this event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.

The book fair will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 24, through Thursday, March 27, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 28. Extended shopping hours will be held during family programs Tuesday and Thursday, when the book fair will remain open until 6:30 p.m.

The Campus Child Care is located in a white stone building on the west side of Gabel Hall. Parking is available in the circle drive during book fair hours; those with yellow or blue permits can park in Lot S/38. The center’s main entrance is located by the circle drive.

The book fair offers specially priced children’s books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, adult bestsellers, cookbooks and other great reads from more than 100 publishers.

Scholastic logoCustomers can help Campus Child Care build our library by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish Basket program.

In addition, the Book Fair will feature the All for Books® program, where families can share the thrill of reading by donating loose change to purchase books from the Book Fair for community programs. Scholastic matches monetary donations by donating up to 1 million books, which go to national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping families in need, such as the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation; Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc.; and Kids In Need Foundation.
