NIU’s Outdoor Recreation Sports Complex will host a grand opening and game day Friday, Sept. 19.
The free event includes food, giveaways and prizes. The first 1,000 game participants will receive water bottles or T-shirts.
Events begin at 5 p.m. with a grand opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting.
From 6 to 9 p.m., games include bags, a climbing wall, dodgeball, a fitness challenge, a football throwing contest, Frisbee golf, grass volleyball, kickball, wiffleball and 3-on-3 soccer. Glow-in-the-dark Ultimate Frisbee is planned from 9 to 10 p.m.
