The Chicago White Sox and NIU have partnered to host NIU Night at U.S. Cellular Field on Wednesday, June 17, when the White Sox host the Pittsburgh Pirates (7:10 p.m. start).

NIU Night includes specially priced tickets and a giveaway item for the university’s students, alumni and fans. The first 1,500 fans who purchase their tickets through the special ticket link (whitesox.com/NIU) will receive co-branded White Sox and NIU baseball caps.

“The NIU Alumni Association and university have enjoyed a strong partnership in a variety of areas with the Chicago White Sox for several years,” said Joe Matty, associate vice president for university advancement and executive director of the NIU Alumni Association. “We thank the White Sox for their generous support of the university and its mission, and we are excited about NIU’s expanded presence at U.S. Cellular Field throughout the 2015 season.”

This partnership also includes an interactive scoreboard fan camera feature throughout the season. The feature will showcase families in attendance enjoying themselves on U.S. Cellular Field’s center field video board.

“The White Sox enjoy building relationships with local universities, especially when it involves engaging fans of both the Sox and the university,” said Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We are thrilled to welcome NIU, their alumni and fans to U.S. Cellular Field this season and can’t wait to see all the Huskie fans at the ballpark on June 17.”
