For the 115th edition of homecoming, Northern Illinois is reviving the time-honored tradition of a bonfire.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the entire DeKalb County community are invited to participate in this free event, 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, in Parking Lot C-3, located between the Convocation Center and the Outdoor Recreation Sports Complex.
In addition to the roaring bonfire, the event will include a DJ, food and games. The NIU cheerleaders will also be on hand to get Huskie fans revved up for Saturday’s homecoming game against Toledo.
The homecoming court, and the winners of all homecoming events, will be announced at 7:30 p.m.
This event is sponsored and operated in part by the Campus Activities Board.
